Background

Sean holds a Bachelor of Laws with Honours, a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practise, and a Graduate Certificate in Domestic Violence from the Queensland University of Technology.  He also holds a Bachelor of Science (Psychology) from the University of Queensland. 
 
After being admitted as a lawyer in 2013, Sean was first called to the employed bar in 2023 before moving to the private bar in 2024.
 
Sean undertakes work at the Bar in Criminal Law, Domestic and Family Violence, Inquiries/Inquest, and Administrative Law / Regulatory work.
 
He was a police prosecutor in the Queensland Police Service for 18 years. His work with Queensland Police Service included as a Principal Prosecutor at Brisbane Police Prosecutions where he was well regarded in the State.
 
Throughout his career as a Police Prosecutor, Sean appeared in hundreds of summary proceedings (sentences, bail applications, committal and summary hearings), in both the adult and juvenile jurisdictions, in cases ranging from speeding to murder.  He developed a specialised knowledge of domestic and family violence law while in charge of the Domestic Violence Team at Brisbane Prosecutions. He also developed a specialised knowledge from his work in organised crime / consorting law while conducting a review of the serious and organised crime prosecutions on behalf of the Queensland Police Service.
